New Orleans

When you think about ghosts where do you think they inhabit? Is it in another state, another country, around the corner or in your own home? I’ve been DYING to go to New Orleans and guess what? IM HERE. I’ve been on this “ghost/ paranormal” journey for what seems like, five years? I’ve tried to not acknowledge the in between so to speak for years, but it’s time to put on the big girl pants and not turn a blind eye to the possibility. I’ve had too many bangs and the “other” feelings to say otherwise. Heck, I’ve had tech go on the fritz because of it. Dauphine Hotel has an over flow of it all. However, I heard that Bloody Mary is the place to go for ghost tours and it very own voodoo store and museum. Tonight, we are going to try to see if the ghosties want to talk. I’ll let you know if I’m successful.

Cru Cellars

Good Afternoon readers,

I hope all is well, we here at BrewFeeds are trying to spread our wings and dive into all of what Tampa has to offer. Our newest venture is to a fantastic place that you must seek out. It’s called Cru Cellars, a wonderful wine bar and restaurant it’s a gorgeous spot along south Mac Dill road in the Palma Ceia District of downtown Tampa. The space has an airy open atmosphere with over 350 wines to choose from that are not only everyday sippers and easy on the wallet but are so unique you can’t get anywhere else. In the front of the building there’s a long table for parties or for their Blind Wine tasting events where patrons have to guess what wine is in the paper bag to test out their tongue’s flavor sense. Could it be a medium red? A dry Riesling? I know I’m game to try.

The owner Jennifer has recently renovated a part of Cru creating a very swanky intimate setting that is reminiscent of the flavor within Frank Sinatra’s time. Deep blue velvet booths and mood lighting make it both luxurious and secret. The back of the restaurant has the newly done backsplash in black and white behind the bar and of course the wine garden itself tucked away from the outside cares of the world. Honestly, it’s a gem not to mention their menu is to die for, top favorite menu items such as the Cru Burger and Steak Frittes are the must-have entrees while the cheese curds and of course their cheese selection is phenomenal, but you can never go wrong with cheese.

Cru Cellars brings a lot to the table what with their large selection of affordable wines, light delicious flavors in food and events not to mention a wine club. Now, I’ll give you a tidbit on the wine club because I’m keen on signing up as well, their wine club comes three different ways all involving wine and even a free appetizer to boot each month. The prices vary depending on which membership you choose. I recommend this slice of heaven for a girl’s night, date night or any time honestly, when you need a glass or two inside or out in the moonlight in their secluded wine garden. I give Cru Cellars five stars for ambiance and brilliance, and I can’t wait to go back again for a sip and a sigh of delight.

Something to look forward to in the year 2020, their third location in Westshore Marina on Gandy. As for this year especially this Saturday, check out their nine year anniversary party which is on October 26, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm. They’re located at 2506 S MacDill Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33629. Come enjoy their exquisite wine and food during this momentous occasion! Disney Galore!!!!!

The sun was shining, the skies are a bright and bold blue and the smell of spring perfumed the air it was the perfect day to be at the most magical place on earth, Disney! Minus the sweltering humidity that could melt your face off like the bad guy in The Last Crusade in Indiana Jones, yes eyeball melting sweltering heat. Today Brewfeeders, yours truly traversed the cobbled streets of Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
Whenever, I’ve gone to Disney I swear I need about ten more pairs of eyes. Everything is breathtaking and your senses are fucking overloaded with sounds, delicious aromas, and colors abundant from buildings, mouse merch, and the flowers bursting from every corner.
It made it even more magical that it was Dapper Day, however, I was under dressed, next time it won’t be so. Everyone was dressed to the nines ladies wearing the retro dresses of Joan Cleaver Leave It To Beaver dresses, men in boaters or fedoras, it was eye popping. So, on this magical day with senses exploding, I wasn’t here for any particular reason other than sight seeing and the rides which I might add the last time I went there were a few less rides and attractions to get into, ahem not saying how long.
But back on track here! The two new rides resided in the Fantasy Land, Snow White ride, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Under the Sea- Journey of The Little Mermaid, both were amazing! I love rides, first off the Seven Dwarves ride was full of twists and turns, ups and downs, very exhilarating, where as the Under the Sea was filled with bubbles and nostalgia. The amount of detail leading up to each ride was astounding. The planning and attention to detail made me feel that they dropped my ass into the world of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and the Little Mermaid.
On the last leg of the Magic Kingdom trail was the favorites trot, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion, nothing like being in a haunted buggy seeing friendly apparitions and tricks or sailing the high seas fighting with cutlets and shooting muskets, or at least that’s what it feels like going in and setting sail on each ride.
After sweltering in the heat we made our way to Epcot in all its glory. Violet Lemonade ears galore!! Which is the new ears this season, purple and orchids everywhere in non alcoholic drinks, shirts, and cups! There is also The Orange Bird, having its own slushie drink and cup to refresh oneself with! Adorable portraits and souvenirs for the iconic bird. Now this is just the drink portions, the food and scenery were just as palpable. Coconut shrimp skewers from the Caribbean area and steak tips from Canada.
At the end with much trudging I can say with fucking elation that there are more Dapper days ahead and drinks can be made by hand at home if you can’t make the trek to Florida. For more Dapper Day extravaganza s to come visit http://dapperday.com/ and for your violet lemonade needs go here https://www.kaitkillebrew.com/violet-lemonade/ just so you know we here at BrewFeeds will make an alcoholic version along with the non alcoholic version of the Violet Lemonade!

Summer Ends

A big hello to you all! It’s been months since I’ve written, guilty as charged. However, I have goodies for you all to snag your teeth in. What is it? Book reviews and places to see of course. Life gets a person down and writing becomes dry and jaded, self worth and all those woes. But I am here and all the comments and questions aren’t lost. How are you guys? Events coming up are interesting, such as the cupcake festival in November here in Tampa, and of course a sneak peek of the world of Disney and all the magic it beholds. I won’t hold back so stay tuned.

Chronicles of The One: Part DU!

Hello BrewFeeders!

I’ve raved about the first book Year One, now here comes part du! Of Blood and Bone by Nora Roberts. I’ve been reading Nora since before there was a title for being a “Millennial.” Since that scene, I’ve been an avid reader of her works where she creates a world where you can walk through and be a part of.

Of Blood and Bone, has a sense of rhythm and magic that’s different from the usual guy or girl falls in love and fights evil, but in fact it is filled with choices and magic and above all, duty. It is hard to , put aside what you cherish most and do what is best for others this sequel has that balance. Check out Of Blood and Bone by Nora Roberts, if you haven’t read the first book it is called Year One. Don’t miss out!

Gasparilla matey’s, yo ho!

Honestly, BrewFeeds first year traversing the Tampa downtown! It has been a delight. We like to start with Carne Asada to walking the flooded streets of Tampa. You have to understand I hold my ‘m’lord’ m’lady’ until the Renaissance fair. But being a pirate for the day as it is my wish, I bowed until my tricorn hit the pavement and “my captain,” left my lips reverently. This act alone presented, things such as drinks and beads, not that I recommend it but I find you may never know what will happen if you don’t put yourself out there. Since I was a pirate for the day, it was definitely putting my black heart out there and being the braggidy-boasty self that even Calico Jack would hoist a cheers at! We watched from the streets and we watched from the Tampa Club way up high in the nose bleeds and danced with the Rough Riders and even steam punk Abraham Lincoln!

The Invasion has Begun!

Last Saturday, the Kids Gasparilla began. Full of light hearted cheer and excitement for all. Brewfeeders we road the float belonging to The Rough Riders! We sang, we thrown beads, and the Calvary horn sounded are arrival. Even though the tale of Jose Gasper and the invasion was made up back in 1904, the tradition of stealing the key to the city of Tampa still stands today! The Mayor Bob Buckhorn refused to give up the key Tuesday the 22nd and now the pirates will invade on the 26th of January as is tradition. So, we must here at Brewfeeds headquarters cover the invasion, Avast you scurvy dogs, we shall slay the lot of you!

The Battle Between Ink and Paper

Hello fellow BrewFeeders!

I hope your New years went well. Last year I was a bit of a recluse but this year I want to push the envelope! 2018 wasn’t as super charged as the first year, 2017. However, I’m not ready to give up.

I wanted to talk about the book I’ve been reading. Personally, I’ve been quarreling with my inner demons on writing my own stories and art. It’s been frustrating where I’ll jump up and say I have something to say and then, squeak and run away when it comes time to put fingertips to keys.

BUT!!! I digress, I’ve been reading The Art of War for Writers by James Scott Bell. So far, I can nod in agreement like a bobblehead on crack. Everything that I do or feel he’s got me under that heat lamp of truth. It isn’t as harsh as I paint it but in fact, it’s more of an acknowledgement of the hand wrenching anxiety any artist feels when pouring out their whole world to well, the world. Relax all, there are exercises that help you relax and re-think on how to tackle pen to paper or keyboard to monitor or if you’re really nostalgic typewriter to paper(bravo by the way). Trust me Mr. Bell writes well and isn’t too wordy where you get lost but rather, gets straight to the point.

With my last words, keep trying, keep plugging away, don’t let anyone steal your worth!

Fear

Hey Brewfeeders,

I haven’t been on for months. Months, that’s terrible right? Same, lets move forward. Fear, to produce, to be, to make, stops the flow of creativity. Nothing like a cork to the hole, when fear creeps its shadow across your heart. I’ve been going through it as well. It is okay to feel the insecurity, it is human. However, don’t let anyone dim your shine. You are amazing and unforgettable. To be continued…..

What’s New? The Tech

Good Evening Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well. Today, is a monumental day as I have purchased a new desktop. Before I have been using old reliable who is old and slow, it makes me sad to see things stop chasing the ghost but such is life technology even fails just like people as they age. So with a fresh new tower and devices I’ll be able to connect to the rest of the world with ease.

I am also, currently working on refurbishing a desk for the whole set up. I’ll post videos or photos of the process. So far, sanding takes up the most time. Just a tidbit if you want to take out frustration a sander and a wood project is just the thing. I am concerned with the staining because it’s something I haven’t really touched before. Here’s to hoping I don’t get too sloppy!
